Nurturing the Pune Startup Eco-System Through Communities

I’ve been helping the Pune OpenCoffee Club bootstrap itself here in Pune. The community is designed to help Tech. Startup enthusiasts, entrepreneurs, developers, advisor's, Investors and everyone else create a central place for networking.

Pune also hosts a number of other organizations aimed at Entrepreneurs - CSI-Pune, SEAP, TiE, NASSCOM to name a few. How is this different? To begin with, the OpenCoffee Club is an informal format. In other words, anyone could announce and arrange a networkin… Continue

Hello Santosh,

Just wanted to say hello to you, taking note of the wonderful job you are doing as an entrepreneur. I believe you are also managing the Pune OCC. I am entirely into Business Process Consulting. As of now, my consulting deliverables are closely associated with ISO / BS Standards like Information Security (ISO 27001) and Business Continuity (BS 25999), besides a host of other ISO / BS Standards that have great acceptance in the market world-over.

I look for young professionals, who would like to make a big impact in their professional/business lives through Business Process Consulting. Pune is an excellent geography where I should be able to look for talent. At this point of time, I am not looking for people, who want jobs. Consulting has its own rigours and excitement. One has to know how to be a loner, despite being swarmed by people of all hues & colours in the client's site. Communication skills of a high order, large bandwidth of knowledge on business, operations, IT, Process, etc. are the basic capital requirements in Business Process Consulting. Work comes sometimes in avalanche and there is no work some times and this too has to be managed well. Money investment is low and one should just spend that much money required for managing the local operations. Consulting assignments take people far and wide and it can't be location-centric.

Those who are already into ISO / BS Standards can appreciate what kind of work ISO / BS Stds. consultants do. I hasten to add that people wilth vanilla skills with no bandwidth may not be the kind of ones I am looking for.

Will love to hear from you, if I could search for talent from Pune OCC.

Dear Santosh,

I see certain members of POCC as Featured Members. Is there any difference in me as a common member and a featured one. If it is any kind of up gradation in the membership what will I have to do to become a featured member?

Yes Santosh! I agree.. Wat i was trying to do is to create awareness.. A member of one particular group may not be aware of it if the message isnt posted there..

I apologize if i hv offended your code of conduct.. Nothing intentional
